You know a fellas good for the moola...

The one downside to putting in all this work from home is that I'm having a hard time with the work/not work divide. Throughout the day, I'll have to see to the baby, thus eating into my work time, which I then feel I need to make up. Couple that with needing to make lunch and dinner and even though I'm typically only working 8 hours, 12-13 hours have passed. The easy solution, I suppose, would be to just stop giving a shit about the work, but among my many faults, a lack of work ethic does not seem to be among them.

I think going forward, I'm going to have to set up some realistic work/life boundaries, and really just identifying and articulating this need has done a lot to alleviate the feelings I've been having recently. But yay for boundaries.

In other news, I now have a practice deadbolt. Hooray for pastimes that aren't technically illegal!

That is all citizens.

I completely know how you feel. Okay, maybe not completely as I don't have an infant pulling at my attention, but working from home can be difficult. I've noticed that your computer is in the middle of the living room. Could moving it downstairs help a bit? Or are these other things stuff that absolutely needs to be done? Sometimes, I just have to close my door and shut out the world. This is one reason why when we eventually move, we'll be looking for a place with a reasonable space for an office.

Sadly, the downstairs plan doesn't quite work for my purposes - my work laptop needs to be wired to my router since (stupid) linux doesn't want to recognize my wireless card - as I'd otherwise use the guest room as an office as well :-/ I feel you on the reasonable space for an office front. When we move, that is definitely going to be a consideration.

Panther had a box of practice locks he got from his local gym. Just padlocks that people left there. Deadbolts are a little more advanced, though.

Ooh! The local gym plan sounds like a good idea, I'll have to poke around town and see if I can score some free locks.

Deadbolts are a little more advanced, but it makes a good goal. That and in the near future, there is a deadbolt that I'm going to have to have a talk with.
